So novices, and skilled craftsmen alike, have taken to playing blackjack, in good numbers with the advent of the online variant of the beautiful game, by following a simple, beginner’s guide to playing online blackjack.

Blackjack a simple 52 deck card game, which constitutes multiple players and a dealer (the bank). The game is played as players against the dealer, rather than amongst the players itself. The ultimate objective of the game is to hold a blackjack ( a sum of 21 ) through the face value sums of cards that are being dealt to you. The winning proportions include, having a card hand of better face value than the dealer, yet not exceeding a value of 21 as its sum of face values. The cards are assigned their face values, as follows. The ace is given a dual face value assumption of either 1 or 11. Any stand made with the ace in conjunction is known as a ‘soft’ hand, for incase of another card being dealt, and the sum is threatened, the ace can be measured to represent a 1. The numbered cards from 2 through 9 are given their representative values. The face cards, as in the kings, queens and the jacks are given a face value of 10 each. By convention, the cards are dealt one at a time, to each of the players in clockwise direction. After dealing 2 cards to each of the players, the dealer deals himself a double. All the cards are dealt strictly face down, and hence all bets are to be placed on the table, before each player faces up his or her cards. Once the cards are face up, the first step is to eliminate any busts. The hands, which have a total exceeding 21, are bust, and hence, at each round, the player who busts is expected to fold, to save himself his wager.

Any player, if holding a face value sum of 21, is said to have been holding a blackjack and is awarded the jackpot, in 2:1 and varying odds, depending on the casino. If the player feels, he is up for the game; he may call a ‘hit’ which request for a card from the deck. He or she can also increase their bets, during the game play, by calling a raise. The ‘stand’ call is to do nothing in this round, satisfied with the hands dealt, yet still remain in the race. The ‘split’ call is to split similar cards to distinct hands, this call must be put to proper use, for missing a ‘split’ might end you up in bust. Players can also, take up ‘insurance’ in event of suspecting the dealer to have a ‘blackjack’ or ‘double down’ in events of holding a Ace card.
